What is B-Boying/Breaking?
B-Boying, also known as Breaking, is an energetic and acrobatic street dance style that originated in the 1970s from the hip-hop culture of New York City.
B-Boys (males) and B-Girls (females) use dynamic moves, freezes, and rhythmic footwork to express themselves.

Breaking emerged in the early 1970s in the Bronx, New York, alongside other elements of hip-hop culture like rapping, DJing, and graffiti art.
It gained popularity through block parties, competitions, and early hip-hop films.

Key Elements of B-Boying
Some of the key elements that define b-boying include:
- Toprock: Standing moves like the Indian Step and Rocking Horse
- Downrock: Moves done on the floor like the 6-Step and 3-Threat
- Power Moves: Explosive and acrobatic moves like windmills and airfares
- Freezes: Stylized poses that appear to “freeze” in time
